Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Physical Scientist:
A. Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR B. Combination of Education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to one of the majors, as shown in A above, that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Minimum Qualifications GS-11:
One year of specialized experience which includesconducting corrective measure studies to support quality control efforts and to ensure continuous process improvements; Conducting individual investigations of special projects to obtain and record precise and accurate measurement of chemical compounds and physical phenomena; Reviewing scientific/technical literature in order to gain information concerning the chemical and biological characteristics of substances; Managing hazardous waste generated during igloo leaker isolation procedures, laboratory analysis, remedial operations, and in permitted or regulated facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:
physical science, engineering, or mathematics. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-09. Minimum Qualifications GS-12:
One year of specialized experience which includes performing duties as an Agent Custodian for dilute/neat agent solution, maintaining inventory records of accountability for the solutions, and is responsible for developing and writing procedures for their use in the laboratory; Serving as Agent Standards Coordinator, assuring data generated from analysis is reliable and accurate, and that instrumentation and reagents of analysis are within control limits according to the Laboratory Quality Control Plan; Participating in chemical analysis of Proficiency Testing (PT) samples and submitting reports; Managing hazardous waste generated during igloo leaker isolation procedures, laboratory analysis, remedial operations and in permitted or regulated facilities; Coordinating and overseeing the management and weekly inspections of the monitoring suit sheds and designated 90-day HW accumulation areas, ensuring they meet all Permit, Federal, State and local requirements and holding times are not exceeded. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
