One year specialized which includes experience providing basic training or instruction on topics such as law enforcement or basic security procedures; experience recognizing and solving disputes that may arise during the training program, elevating more complex issues to senior management; and experience evaluating training needs of personnel and scheduling appropriate courses. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in federal service (GS-06). Specialized Experience for the GS-08 Level:
One year specialized experience which includes experience conducting specialized training or instructing an adult education program on topics such as law enforcement or security procedures to ensure the safety of installation personnel; experience developing course materials, training aides, and testing material for security personal to ensure staff complete required trainings; and experience analyzing training results to provide course recommendations to senior staff members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-08:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
