Ability to do the work of an Monitoring Systems Operator/Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform the most difficult and complex application of mechanical, electrical or other skills related to the maintenance and/or modification of equipment used to monitor toxic or chemical munitions. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen OutAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort:
Works on hard surfaces performing work requiring frequent walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, long periods of standing, and a normal amount of lifting (generally not to exceed 50 pounds), pushing, and pulling. May work for sustained periods in a mobile laboratory or within the confines of a monitoring shelter. Working Conditions:
Works indoors and outdoors, and is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. Works for a substantial portion of time in dangerous proximity to operations and areas where permanent disability or death could occur as a result of exposure to lethal toxic chemicals or detonation of explosives. Incumbent and supervisor ensure that adequate precautions have been taken to reduce the risk to the lowest known level. Wears protective equipment such as rubber apron, gloves, gas mask, etc., as required.
