Supplier Quality Engineer In this job role, the Supplier Quality Engineer will develop vendors of supplied material for the client, from prototype builds to end of production; establish the expectation of supplier conformance for meeting and exceeding the APQP requirements for new product launches to successfully achieve PPAP approval on time and within budget; review and evaluate cost breakdowns from suppliers and issue purchase requisitions for supplied material; oversee and manage supplier quality concerns, continuous improvement activities and compliance to client's quality standards and throughout the life of the supplier program.
Responsibilities:
Verify and approve all supplier APQP activities such as PFMEAs, Process Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams and other quality documentation activities required for PPAP.
Drive supplier development as it relates to cost, quality and process to insure timely customer approval of PPAP and flawless production launch within budget.
Develop incoming receiving control plans and processes for supplied components.
Conduct periodic program reviews with suppliers to ensure program goals and timing are being met or exceeded.
Serve as technical liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Material Control and Suppliers.
Work with each department to respond to our suppliers and our customers concerning requirements, specifications, engineering changes and delivery schedules.
Manage the clients' approved supplier list.
Audit and monitor suppliers to insure they meet all the requirements to be on the list along with the applicable ISO and TS quality system requirements, customer specific requirements, and internal requirements.
Drive continuous improvement with suppliers as it relates to cost, quality, process and overall quality system improvements.
Manage all supplier quality concerns using the 8D corrective action principles in timely manner.
Travel to suppliers for supplier selection evaluations, supplier development audits, quality systems audits, and for necessary quality concerns.
Update supplier portal and supplier rating system regarding the status of problem suppliers or concerns with supplied product in regards to quality and supply.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education and
Experience:
Bachelors degree from four:
year College or university; or one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
