The eye examinations performed by the ophthalmic assistant consist of chief complaint, medical history, review of systems, visual acuity testing, refraction, intraocular pressure check, dilation and diagnostic testing.
Preferred work experience in ophthalmology or optometry.
Preferred work experience in healthcare.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
