Summary:
Ensure the operational availability, proper quantification, specification, implementation, commissioning and operation of all matters related to instrumentation, control, automation, and electrical issues of the Polypropylene Catalyst Plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Cost management - Lead defined CAPEX and maintenance projects related to electrical and instrumentation installments - Steer and Control project progress in order to achieve agreed project targets with regards to timeline and budget Maintenance - Ensure technical and optimized availability of the production equipment related to electrical and instrumentation.
- Create and maintain all electrical and instrumentation documentation; ensure proper utilization of Management of Change - Coordinate with Project Engineers, Contractors, and Maintenance Department on all electrical and instrument installations.
Optimizing of production processes - Develop process and procedure documentation and operator training materials - Develop and maintain functional description / control logic / Interlocks - Ensure calibration and certification of instrumentation - Optimization of control valves and control loops.
- Responsible for DCS/SIS system integrity, modifications, software configuration - Define Ex:
Zones and elaboration of Ex:
Zone Diagram and ensure correct installation according to Ex:
Zoning Project Engineering - Support and evaluate engineering projects and verify compliance with required permits - Control quality and operational readiness of purchased equipment Continuous Improvement/ Clariant Excellence - Utilize Lean:
Sigma methods such as DMAIC targeting cost reduction, efficiency increase, and a trouble free operation - Lead, champion and support continuous improvement initiatives and activities to ensure KPI's are met OTHER DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
- Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering - 5
years' experience in a chemical process manufacturing environment desired.
- Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt a plus - Distributed Control System (DCS) experience is preferred - Must have excellent overall computer skills, SAP experience is preferred but not required - Ability to work varied work hours - Must be a self:
starter and able to make fast and accurate decisions - Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks effectively.
- Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making ability.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
