BSHSI POSITION SUMMARY Job Requirements 1.
A comprehensive understanding of insurance pre:
certification requirements, contract benefits and medical terminology is required.
This level is normally attained through one or two years experience in hospital billing, follow:
up or registration.
2.
Work requires the ability to access any on:
line insurance eligibility system normally attained through one year of work experience or training.
3.
Work requires ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions, perform mathematical calculations and communicate effectively at a level generally acquired through completion of a high school education.
4.
Work requires interpersonal skills necessary for conversing with patients, clinical staff, physician offices, leadership and co:
workers.
Excellent phone etiquette is required.
5.
Work requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to concentrate on detailed information for extended periods of time with or without interruption.
6.
Work requires proficient keyboard skills with an average speed of 30 wpm and personal computing skills in a windows environment with the use of a mouse.
7.
Ability to adapt to change and display flexibility to meet the needs of the department.
