About the Position:
This position is with the U.S. Army Chemical Materials Activity, Blue Grass Chemical Activity, Chemical Operations Directorate, Laboratory and Monitoring Division, Richmond, Kentucky.

Inspect, repair, adjust, and test a variety of toxic detection equipment such as the Miniature Continuous Air Monitoring System,(MINICAMS ), Depot Area Air Monitoring System (DAAMS) stations, Mass Spec Chemical Agent Monitoring System and related equipment.
Responsible for the proper handling of specific hazardous wastes generated by the unit, activity, or facility.
Maintain, repair, install, and adjust equipment such as Real Time Analytical Platform (RTAP), heating and cooling systems, diagnostic test set, electrical test set, monitor assembly and electrical test set, and the monitor assembly function test set.
Repair nitrogen/hydrogen and electrical generators and battery charging systems. Repair 1000 cubic feet per minute (CFM) filtration systems and decontamination equipment. Install/repair all plumbing and vacuum lines inside of RTAP's.
Overhaul, repair, rebuild, troubleshoot, adjust, install, test, inspect, fabricate, and maintain complex electronic equipment and/or complete electronic operational systems.
Operate a forklift with a 15,000 lb capacity.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to do complex tasks: For the position of Electronics Mechanic WG-2604-11, this entails overhauling, repairing, rebuilding, modifying, troubleshooting, adjusting, installing, testing, inspecting, fabricating, and maintaining complex electronic equipment and/or complete electronic operational systems.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
Light to moderate physical effort is required. Employee frequently lifts and carries up to 40 pounds. May occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. Work requires sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, and working in cramped or awkward positions. Occasionally work in high places may be required. Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors to distinguish color codes. Incumbent works in the toxic ammunition area and must pass physical examination requirement for working in the vicinity of toxic agents. Must apply first aid training including self-injection of antidotes to gases to which exposed. Incumbent is given blood test and physical examination to assure continued ability to work in a Chemical Limited Area.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed inside and outside in unheated or inadequately structures. Incumbent is exposed to grease, dirt, and dust and is required to work in buildings with cement floors. There is a possibility of scrapes, bruises, burns, scratches, and electrical shocks. Uses such safety equipment as glasses, shoes, gloves, and coveralls, when working in close proximity to toxic crews. Work assignments involve a thorough knowledge of hazardous material handling, and related activities. There is a possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes from spills and/or leaks and incumbent may be required to wear protective clothing (e.g., rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, gloves, respirator, etc.).

Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
Must qualify for and remain qualified for the Chemical Unescorted Access Program (UAP), AR 190-59, to include random urinalysis as specified in Depot procedures and AR 600-85.
May be required to participate in Chemical Accident/Incident Response and Assistance (CAIRA) situations and serve on teams dedicated to controlling CAIRA situations after being trained for the particular duty involved.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
